Manual for Adulting
Manual for Adulting

18 is just a number A number used to mark the point at which a person “becomes” an adult. Most of us realize that even if a person reaches the magic “beginning of adulthood,” it’s still possible to not act like it.

Culture shows us this through language. The word “Adult” has transformed from a noun: “that young lady is such an adult,” to a verb: “my gas tank is low so I need to adult and fill it up.” The latter statement really emphasizes the point that an adult is a person who makes responsible choices. Sure, each adult needs to make decisions that allow him or her to survive, but in order for society to thrive, those decisions need to have a positive impact on the culture. Culture is at its healthiest when the dignity of human life is respected. Manual for Adulting was designed as a guide for responsible decisions. It won’t tell you what decisions to make, however it will arm you with a wealth of solid information. So, when it’s time to “adult,” the choices you make will reflect the adult that you are.
